Love Jesus but Can’t Stand Christians?

For those who know Jesus Christ, His works, His teachings, His mercy and infinite love for us, it is easy to fall in love with Him and want to follow Him.   Jesus died for our sins and offers us eternal life1; all we have to do is accept Him, be sanctified by His blood and become part of His church.2  However, for some, the problem with accepting Jesus lies in that second part.  Just the thought of becoming a member of the church – a place that may be perceived by some as being filled with hypocritical, illogical, judgmental and self-righteous people – can be off-putting.  Why be a member…

  • Why Choose Jesus?

Why Jesus?  Why not Gandhi or Muhammad or Buddha?  With so many religions in the world, it is easy to get overwhelmed, frustrated and confused.  How do you know which one is true, if any?  And, why doesn’t God make this easier for us?  If you are interested in getting to know God and are asking any of these questions, I hope this post will help. First of all, I would like to point out that the enemy (the devil) doesn’t want us to get close to God and have a relationship with Him.  One of his tactics for keeping us away is by causing divisions and confusions.  Don’t let…

  • Peace in the Midst of Violence

The surge of violence in the world in the past few years has caused many to fear.  They fear for the safety and well-being of their loved ones as well as the overall state of the world.  What’s going to happen to us?  Are we in danger? Is there any hope of peace, order and good? What we have seen these past few years include lies, hatred, murder, injustice, and rebellion.  All of these do not come from God but from our enemy, the devil.  Therefore, what we are witnessing are his works.  To undo the works of the devil, we need Jesus (1 John 3:8).  The enemy will always…

  • Is Suffering Necessary?

Recently I went through a personal difficulty that made me think about the subject of suffering.  Do we HAVE to suffer?  Is it a part of life or is it possible to avoid it forever?  I have never met a person who is happy ALL the time and never has any pain.  Is suffering, then, an unavoidable part of life?  If so, why?  What is the purpose of it? I define suffering as any type of pain, either physical or emotional.  Examples of suffering are death of a loved one, sickness, hunger, lack of physical necessities (roof, clothing, food, etc.), or a breakup.  As we can see, all these things…

  • Trust in God

Trust in God.  That’s easier said than done.  Not because God is not trust-worthy, but because we have so little faith.  Time and time again, God has come through.  He has proven to us over and over again how much He loves us, regardless of how unworthy we are.  Yet, when times of trouble come, we doubt whether He’s going to help us out AGAIN, and whether we have been good enough to deserve His love and mercy. Jesus said, Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.  (John 14:1 NKJV) Our faith is so much smaller than a mustard seed.  We don’t comprehend…

  • Is God Losing?

There have been times when I have felt sadness looking at the state of the world and that of the church.  I feel like people care less and less about God.  They have no respect for His Word and don’t care about His Son dying on the cross for us.  God’s people are becoming fewer and fewer, perhaps because the world doesn’t think it cool to have morals anymore.  We are mocked and ridiculed for our conservative values.  We cannot openly talk about God in the public schools and publicly profess our views on family and personal integrity.  The world sees us as narrow-minded and judgmental.  I fear that soon…

  • God’s Tips for Time Management

In this day and age, we all seem to be very busy.  There is so much to do and so little time.  We are constantly running, overworked, overstressed, and overtired.  As a result, we get weak physically, mentally and spiritually.  This is a problem because when we are weak we are more susceptible to falling and being snared by the Enemy, which is exactly what he wants. We have known from the beginning that the devil is crafty and has many tricks up his sleeve.  He can come into our lives undetected.  His goal is to separate us from God and he will try anything to attain it.  My last…

  • Satan’s Meeting (Read even if you’re busy)

Satan called a worldwide convention of demons. In his opening address he said, “We cannot keep people from going to pray.” “We cannot keep them from reading their holy books and knowing the truth.” “We cannot even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their God “. “Once they gain that connection with GOD, our power over them is broken.” “So let them go to their prayers; let them have their covered dish dinners, BUT steal their time, so they don’t have time to develop a Relationship with GOD…” “This is what I want you to do,” said the devil: “Distract them from gaining hold of their GOD and…

  • thank you Lord!

    Thank You, Lord, for Jesus

Whenever I meditate on Jesus’ death and what it means to the world, I cannot help but feel an immense gratitude.  This is more so when I have sinned and feel so unworthy and weak.  I thank God for the blood of Jesus, for it cleanses my sins constantly and allows me to have a relationship with the Father and the Son – this is priceless! In the beginning, the Murderer took our lives by deceiving us and leading us to disobey our Father.  As a result, we were separated from God and were moved from Light to Darkness.  We were in slavery to our flesh.  We were dead.  We…

    What is Love?

To many of us, love is a feeling.  It is something one feels towards someone or something. Love is emotional. Given this definition of love, I would like to ask, “Can we control what we feel?”  Thus, “Can we control who we love?” Those who are well-versed in the Word of God know that the two greatest commandments involve love.  The greatest commandment is to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, with all our soul and with all our mind.  The second is to love our neighbor as ourselves (Matt 22:36-39).  On these two commandments hang ALL the law and the prophets.  If we have a faith…
